Texas LTC In-Person Classroom Training

Complete the classroom portion of the Texas License to Carry course in person with Keeper & Legacy.

This course covers the state-required classroom topics for Texas LTC applicants, including:

• Laws related to weapons and the use of deadly force
• Handgun use and safety
• Secure carrying and safe handling
• Non-violent dispute resolution
• Safe storage practices
• Required written examination

Texas requires 4 to 6 hours of classroom instruction for the LTC course. We will schedule this class for approximately 5 hours.

Live Fire: No — this is the classroom portion only

The handgun proficiency/range portion is completed separately. Students may complete the range qualification with Keeper & Legacy or another qualified Texas LTC instructor.

After successful completion of the required training, the appropriate LTC-104 training documentation will be completed. DPS replaced the older LTC-100/LTC-101 forms with the LTC-104 in 2025.
