NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

A comprehensive introductory pistol course designed for new and developing shooters who want a strong foundation in firearm safety, handgun operation, shooting fundamentals, and responsible ownership.

This course combines classroom instruction, hands-on firearm handling, and live-fire training under the supervision of an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor.

Participants will learn:

• Fundamental firearm safety rules
• Pistol parts, operation, and safe handling
• Loading and unloading procedures
• Proper grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control
• Basic marksmanship fundamentals
• Cleaning, maintenance, and safe storage
• Ammunition fundamentals
• Responsible firearm ownership
• Live-fire practice and shooting exercises

Duration: Approximately 8 hours
Cost: $150 per student
Class Size: Limited to 10 students

Firearm & Ammunition Requirements

Students should bring their own suitable pistol and 50 rounds of factory-new, commercially manufactured ammunition in the original factory box.

Reloaded, remanufactured, or hand-loaded ammunition is not permitted.

No live ammunition is permitted in the classroom. Ammunition must remain secured and outside the classroom until the instructor directs students to bring it to the live-fire portion of the course.

If you do not have a suitable firearm or ammunition, contact Keeper & Legacy in advance. In many cases, we can coordinate a firearm and ammunition for training. Any additional costs will be discussed beforehand.
